Welcome to Bird House & Dog House.We started our business in 1995 when we realized the bird population we were breeding was quickly outgrowing the space we had in our house. We opened the first Bird House just up the street from our present location on Lankershim Boulevard in North Hollywood. Outgrowing that space in just one year, we moved 5 doors south to our present location at 5742 Lankershim. It was not long after that we added the space next door to Bird House, giving us the opportunity to add dog, cat and small animal supplies to our store. This new address (next door) became Dog House, (now you know why we have two names). Shortly after that we added full service grooming to the Dog House.After 15 years in the pet industry, we have the knowledge and expertise to assist you with all your pet's needs. We have carefully selected the products we carry in our store, all of which are the best in the industry. We do not carry anything in our store that is not nutritious or vital to your pet's health, whether that be a dog, cat, bird or hamster. Our groomers are all trained and certified with years of experience, and are not only exceptional stylists, but are skilled animal handlers that will treat your pet with tender loving care.We are proud to have been a part of the North Hollywood community for the past sixteen years. Our passion for birds started with just one pair of lovebirds. Sixteen years later we are still just as passionate about our birds as the first day we opened our doors. We carry only the finest products for our "feathered friends", featuring Sunseed and Kaylor premium foods and Zupreem pellet diets. We specialize in hand feeding of our own babies.....cockatiels, lovebirds, parrots; we have the experience to deliver healthy babies to you.Whether you are looking for a finch or a mccaw, parakeet or canary, we have a new feathered friend for you and all the essentials you will need to keep him healthy and happy.And don't forget....we always offer FREE bird grooming (nails trimmed and wings clipped).

At Dog House you will find our service to be outstanding and our grooming personnel not only skilled stylists but exceptional animal handlers. You pet's health and well being are our primary concern. We feature all natural BIO GROOM products, which we have found to be the best in the industry. We offer flea shampoo, medicated shampoo for animals prone to skin problems, hypo-allergenic shampoo perfect for dogs experiencing allergies and the luxury of oatmeal shampoo to condition the skin and coat.

Proper dental care is an important part of an animal's health and often neglected. Our groomers will brush your pet's teeth during your grooming service (for an additional charge). You will find that this will help relieve bad breath problems your pet may be exhibiting, as well as maintaining clean teeth and healthy gums.

Dog House professional grooming services are available seven days a week. To schedule a grooming appointment please call 818-766-4269.

Full Grooming Service

This service is all-inclusive...haircut, bath with your choice of shampoo, hand blow dry, brush out, nails trimmed, ears cleaned and anal glands expressed. Your pet will be professionally styled to your specific instructions and our groomers are experienced in all breed styles. Prices for this service start at $37 for small breed dogs. Cats $55 and up.

Bath and Brush Service

This service includes a bath with your choice of shampoo, hand blow dry, brush out, nails trimmed, ears cleaned and anal glands expressed. If your pet requires additional brushing or de-shedding additional fees will be charged. Prices for our Bath and Brush service start at $22 for small breed dogs. Cats $36 and up.

Every Tuesday and Wednesday we offer our Bath and Brush service at HALF-OFF...an exceptional value!

Appointments are encouraged.

Dog House Rescue Foundation is dedicated to saving adoptable animals from being euthanized in Los Angeles shelters. We will provide care, safety and love to those animals that have been abused, abandoned and neglected.

Our organization is committed to providing animal awareness and education, dog training, responsible pet ownership and spay and neutering programs throughout our community to help reduce the number of dogs and cats entering our city's shelters.

Buddy is currently looking for a foster home, and a permanent home soon. He is neutered and has his shots . He is about 6 to 8 months old and medium size. He was left at the dog park and his breed is unknown .He is located at the North Hollywood location.818-753-4325

This is Tj but they nicknamed him Freeway because he shut down the Long Beach freeway. he was running in between cars so they stopped all traffic until they rescued him . He is now spayed and has all his shots . Come by NoHo to see him . 818-766-4269
